TODAY THE WORDS are THEY LAID SANTA OFF THIS YEAR. What? Have you heard? Santa can stay at the North Pole with Mrs. Santa Claus. Let me give you some background information on this breaking story. Santa has been a vital part of the commercial part of Christmas utilizing a great marketing strategy to encourage sales for “all of the good little boys and girls” and even for the grown up children. Parents have struggled to fill Santa’s sleigh with all kind of goodies so he can leave them under the Christmas trees, grab the cookies and down the milk, and go back up the chimney. So why is Santa laid off this year, you ask?
Employers have to look at the big picture of the business. It is not reflective only from the Most Likable Employee since Santa would corner that award every year. It is not based on productivity as I don’t know of any other employee who can cover the world in one night, deliver better than UPS and the Post Office combined. Santa’s record of attendance has been perfect, so why lay this great employee off? It boils down to one thing….Lack of good behavior from both the children and the grown ups.
We have seen a lot of bad behavior both in parents and children……We could see a rise in a lot of pieces of coal left in stockings. From what is this conclusion derived? They conducted studies, the news media (which also should not receive any goodies either from reporting distorted news reports) and found people trying to be popular more than good; found children being disrespectful to their parents, siblings, law officials, and teachers. Demerits have been issued in huge amounts but were only shredded to stay politically correct. Santa doesn’t like the words “politically correct” and likes to call it like it is. Is that why Santa is out? Who is going to replace Santa? Is he going to be replaced or has the position of Santa become obsolete?
I have written this satire for a big life message. Life only works if we participate in a high moral endeavor. We cannot expect the “good” things in life if we give only “bad” efforts. We have to buy in to the theory “You better watch out; you better not pout. Santa Claus is coming to town. He knows when you are sleeping. He knows when you’re awake. He knows when you’ve been good or bad; so be good for goodness sake.”
Now for the deeper thought…… I would like to ask you to replace the word Santa Claus in these lyrics with God. “You better watch out; you better not pout. God is coming to town. He knows when you are sleeping. He knows when you’re awake. God knows when you’ve been good or bad; so be good for goodness sake.” Maybe some people don’t believe in Santa Claus and even some people don’t believe in God. That is a person’s right; but for me and my house, we want to leave a plate of a good, charitable, honest life out for God to see how we have been behaving and thank God for each present of blessings every day.
DAILY FEATURED BIBLE VERSE:
But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.
