TODAY THE WORDS are WATER OF LIFE. Each morning is an empty glass we can fill up with the water of life and drink it all up to refill it tomorrow. This morning as I wrote this little quote to put on my page, “Arline’s Little Quotes” I thought what a wonderful topic. We have heard the phrase, “Is your glass half full or half empty?”, as a measure of how we perceive life but I thought I would look at life a little differently. Hopefully, each morning, a brand new day, a brand new way, we will find our life’s glass totally empty and it will give us an opportunity to fill it with the water of life by praying and meditating on what we will be able to do during this day. If we concentrate on several areas, charity, mentoring, praising, praying, inspiring, and comforting as well as witnessing; we can fill our glass up to the top. We can start each day, not worrying about what we have to do tomorrow as there is no guarantee of our glass of life being on the counter for it to be filled and therefore, today is the day to fill ‘er up! During the day, we should drink from our glass of life, taking each sip of encouragement and other good things and enjoying the taste of sharing our stories of how we found the route in life which fulfills us and others. Each sip is important and healthy for us to accept this sip in a positive gulp. However, and here comes the lesson in life I learned; it takes time to learn to drink as much water as we really need. When I learned how much healthier I would be to consume at least 8 glasses of water a day, I felt a little resistant to drink all 8 glasses. It felt unnatural to continuously drink water and more water and there were days I would only drink 5 or 6 and even though that much helped; I still needed more. Are you starting to see the lesson? We, as new souls once we have found salvation still have a human resistance to share our testimony, to give all we can give even when it hurts our budgets, to encourage when we feel a little discouraged, or to praise for each and every blessing we receive. What the best part of this lesson is what I discovered is if we keep trying to “up” our intake and out take , it gets easier and easier. Each morning, I find my glass ready to be filled up again and I want to drink as much as I possibly can and I look forward to tomorrow to start all over again. Did you experience this same feeling as you grow with a spiritual life? Live life; love life; and live life to the fullest by drinking in as much life, love, charity, and spirituality as your glass will hold. It is healthy for our eternal health and spirit.
