TODAY THE WORD IS TIZZIES

TODAY THE WORD is TIZZIES. We are in a state of “tizzies” in the world as well as our personal lives today. The singular tizzy is defined as: A state of nervous excitement or confusion; a dither. I think most of us are experiencing the plural “tizzies” as it seems we can’t get one crisis settled without another one hitting us square in the face. A day can start out normally (or at least as normal as you can imagine in today’s atmosphere) and by 8 am, it has gone into a frenzy. One more thing piled on top of the day to day pressures seems to topple the pile and here we go into a tizzy. I am trying to remember if it seemed this way when I was younger. Yes, I had my daughter and there were always finance issues, but I enjoyed being a parent and everyone else I knew, with a few exceptions, were establishing their lives financially and we had jobs; life didn’t seem that disruptive. We had social issues and we worked through the adjustments and changes without watching over our shoulders every minute. Yes, we had crime but it seemed rare and certainly was not at our front door all of the time. No, we didn’t agree with our government all of the time, but we certainly did not have to deal with a new scandal everyday either. Yes, I do believe the world is experiencing bigger problems with watching out for the new diseases, the increase of diseases which have been around; the food contamination and the deadly outbreaks of fatal illnesses; countries acting without any sense at all and bringing disagreement between us about how to handle these situations; immorality running wild in the streets; parents and children showing no respect for each and destroying the precious foundation of life, the family; and media playing up to the infamous and immoral conduct for selfish reasons; and finally the war against God in our government, schools, and families. What to do about the “tizzies”? For believers, it becomes tolerable when we pray, we study, and we join in our prayer groups, church groups, community groups, and volunteering groups. It stabilizes the mind to a place of which we feel we are doing something good and that works better than any nerve pill. We should open the “bottle of God” otherwise known as the Bible and take a pill of love from His Word. It will settle the nerves even in the most difficult bout of the tizzies. Can we solve the world? No, as it is not our job to do so. We are responsible for things which are in our control. Our family is our priority and we can do our part in loving and supporting our faith in our families. Today, instead of stressing with the world, go to the place of Supernatural Powers and visit with God in our prayers and our hearts. Nerves will settle and peace will overtake all of the stress. We can trust God and in that statement; there is no question!

Philippians 4:6-7 ESV / 179 helpful votes
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
